Hey Preethi, it’s great to learn of your journey and your curiosity and drive to keep learning! And it was a nice surprise to see South Africa mentioned throughout your post — I lived in Cape Town for 5 years and my heart remains there even today. ⛰ I started my career in Finance working out of Chicago, with a brush of luck relocated to Cape Town to start our African office. While there, I decided to leave Finance and started my own digital marketing agency serving clients in Tourism & Creative arts! I’ve just moved back to the US last year, and am enrolled in a bootcamp right now learning Javascript & Ruby on Rails/Elixir to become an engineer. I identified a lot with what you wrote in this post, and it was fascinating to read about Silicon Valley from your perspective (as I’m fresh to SF bay). I still have much to learn and am excited to experience what they Valley has to offer.
