3 Reasons Why You Should Volunteer at a Tech Conference

Just getting started with a new programming language and/or framework?

Looking to get up to speed on the latest development in X technology?

New to tech conferences and have no idea where to start?

If you answer Yes to any of these questions, you will probably benefit from attending a tech conference!

TLDR: By volunteering at a conference, you can get:

  1. A warm welcome to the community
  2. Behind the scene access
  3. A chill home base!

Think of a tech conference like a supercharged, multi-day Meetup with a buffet of talks for you to feast on 🍰🌮🍕Depending on the conference, there may be a single track or multiple tracks happening at the same time. At a multi-track 🛤🛤 conference, you can curate your experience by attending talks that are most interesting to you.

Beyond attending talks and workshops, you are bound to meet interesting people in the community. Get the inside scoop on what it is like to work at X company, what passion projects ❤️ they are building on their free time, their favorite Spotify playlist 🎧 and anything that sparks your curiosity. There are usually social events built-in to the conference schedule like happy hours, pre-conf dinner etc. You should definitely attend these events if available.
